Verdict

REAL INTRIGUE (2) made a long, sustained run to win with authority two runs back over 1 ¼m at Kilmore. Started warm favourite at Moe last start on that back of that run but was too bad to be true. Gets some welcomed weight relief with the claim so he deserves another chance. LUCKYHELEFT (1) made steady ground but was no match for Real Intrigue when they clashed at Kilmore three weeks ago. Doesn't win too often but he is very fit after four runs back from a spell and should be in the finish. RULE OF SALEX (9) won two in a row at the picnics then led and gave some cheek before finishing fourth over 1 ½m at Moe most recently. Four-time winner at this distance and with the light weight comes into calculations. THE KINGS GOSPEL (3) struggled to run a strong 1 ½m last time after a gutsy win two back at Hamilton. In the right race to return to form. ZEDWILLDO (6) has been plain in two runs this prep but he goes well third-up and has placed here at the trip from just one attempt.
