Verdict

Tough opener with a few smart looking ones on debut. SEMANTICS (11) is one of those, a filly by Exceed And Excel for the Freedman yard who kicks off. She's been prepping up in Sydney, winning a Randwick barrier trial impressively before doing the same down here at Caulfield Heath. Draws the inside and should kick up to take catching. HOME INVASION (2) drifted in the betting but proved too speedy at Bendigo first up having run a good race in the G3 Gimcrack on debut. She can strip fitter and prove very hard to catch again. NIGHTINGALE LASS (9) is a filly by Farnan on debut for the Dale yard who bolted in with a recent trial at Goulburn. Tough ask against the big stables here but she looks very quick. FORBIDDEN DESIRE (5) has been solid in two runs back and is in the mix.
