Verdict

Tricky little finish. FIRST CHORUS (9) had a foot issue which saw her scratch a couple of times but she seems back on track now. She comes through a race over this track and trip where she had no hope, drawn barrier 15 on a day you wanted to be up and in, getting a mile back but hitting the line well. Mott replaces the apprentice and draws soft, she can atone. On the other hand, MAKDANE (4) draws right out. He was well backed in a stronger race last start with the light weight and ran well enough. Williams is flying and can slot him in near the speed which will see him hard to catch. MOMETZ (12) is racing well without winning, largely due to his negative pattern. He did beat First Chorus home here last start (with a better run) and has claims. SNOOPY NOW (1) comes across from SA in good form, the Swan Hill Cup run two back suggests he can measure up.
