Verdict

BUCKAROO (2) was scratched from last week's All-Star Mile and comes here off the back of an outstanding first up run in the G1 Futurity Stakes, rattling home for second behind Pericles. 1 ?m is ideal now and his best form (2nd in a Cox Plate) beats these. BIRDMAN (5) also comes here breathing fire off a very good win in the G2 Blamey Stakes, ripping off some huge late sectionals to win dominantly. Third up, he might just have a slightly better base than his stablemate. LIGHT INFANTRY MAN (1) in the same colours has a hope. He's fresh off a dogged win in the G3 Carlyon Cup when kicking back to win. The form out of that has been awful, but he's a multiple G1 winner who will be up on speed which gives him a key advantage. Watch the market with CHIEF LITTLE ROCK (7) who is a G3 winning import. He was sent around $15 behind megastar Calandagan last time but is off a very long break. APULIA (3) was okay in the Blamey and could improve.
