Verdict

Open race but the best of ARKANSAW KID (1) would make him the hardest to beat. First up he was solid leading at a good clip in the G3 Aurie's Star giving away weight but this is his best track and trip and with a bit of improvement he looks a strong hop. NDOLA (4) was well backed in the Aurie's Star and ran fourth, he'll settle back and look to rip home with his turn of foot. RECOMMENDATION (7) hasn't won in a long time but is racing well, placing in the G3 Bletchingly behind Cosmic Crusader here last time, albeit he was beaten four lengths. Gets Shinn on and drops in weight here, he'll take catching. MCGAW (10) resumes. He didn't fire in one run last time in but his best, a G2 winner over Tentyris, reads well if he can find it fresh. ASAKURA (11) resumes. He went through the grades nicely last time in and ended up running fourth to star NZ filly Well Written before a break which is outstanding form.

Trifecta

A wager picking the first, second and third horses in the exact order. A trifecta box means paying more to ensure the horses can finish in any order in the top three spots.

Pari-Mutuel

A pool style wagering system, where all money input through betting is divided among those with winning tickets (save for various deductions by the track operators).

Bobble/Stumble

A slip or a duck from a horse trying to leave the starting gates, often caused by the surface giving way under the feet. This can range from a mild misstep to a stumble down to their knees.
