ALIBABA (3) debuted in the Merson Cooper over this route and just got into an awkward spot when running on late into third. He'll be better for that with a gap between runs and can progress with experience on his side. EUROCANTO (1) resumes having won the Maribyrnong Trial at Flemington on debut, finishing too well and being put on ice since then. He should continue to improve and can measure up. INVICTO (8) is a colt by I Am Invincible on debut for the Ciaron Maher yard. He looked good showing speed to win a recent Cranbourne trial and it wouldn't shock if he leaped the raced form. HIGH ALERT (7) is a Street Boss colt on debut for the Freedman yard. He's been trialling well up in Sydney and the stable have to be respected. MILSONS POINT (2) was a smart winner on debut at Pakenham and can figure.

Claiming Race

A race in which horses are entered for a certain price, or claiming tag, which is also their sales price. An owner can claim any horse entered for the tag before the race begins, and owns them as soon as the gates open.

Bobble/Stumble

A slip or a duck from a horse trying to leave the starting gates, often caused by the surface giving way under the feet. This can range from a mild misstep to a stumble down to their knees.
