AU - Caulfield - Race 1

XTRA RUSH (7) ticks plenty of boxes here. He was beaten for the first time when last seen at Flemington but tried hard in third, and looks to have found the ideal scenario here. Back to Caulfield will suit and there's no pressure for the front. Expect Bates to lead easily and start moving at the 2f mark which will make him very tough to run down. FOUJITA SAN (1) was excellent first up off a short spell, getting home strongly for second and beating Xtra Rush home in the process. Just how big a start he gives around here is the query. SUNSETS (8) struggled in the same race having looked to be going well prior. He could be an improver. GREY ICE (9) won narrowly at Cranbourne last time in easier company but drops in weight and could measure up. STYLISH SECRET (5) struggled over 1 ?/16m last time but won here prior and will be strong late.
