Verdict

Good little race. AVENUE MONTAIGNE (12) comes here off a dominant Pakenham maiden win, backed into $1.65 and coming right away to score by 3.5 lengths. She'd always promised good ability with some close-up runs in good maidens and she gets every chance from the soft draw to go on with it here. Big watch on the resuming CLEVOR TREVER (4) who won his maiden nicely at Seymour before a spell at $1.75. His two defeats were to Millennium Blade and Asakura which are both outstanding references for this. He won a recent trial easily and looks set to measure up. CENTU CAVADDI (1) resumes having tackled some good races in his maiden campaign, last seen down the track behind Sheza Alibi. Tricky draw but he has claims. GOLDEN SPRITZ (2) just found one better first up at Cranbourne but can improve and figure. ASTIQUER (11) won dominantly on debut at Cranbourne and has to be respected off that.
