Verdict

AKARI SPIRIT (1) missed the start last time when well in the market but found the line nicely last start to get up for third over 1m at Wagga. Will need to be on his best affair at the jump from that wide gate, but looks well up to winning this. MEHSUN (4) settled well back at the first run back from a break last start and never really threatened when eighth over 7 ½f at Caulfield Heath. This is a much more suitable assignment and with the blinkers added he is one to watch at the second run back. BELLE FLAMME (8) finished third last time over 6 ¾f at Donald when resuming from a spell, beaten 1.5 lengths. Kept ticking over with a jumpout since, draws well and gets blinkers. GIRT BY SEA (10) had the misfortune of bumping into an in-the-zone Skydream on debut, but will have taken a lot from the experience. Just has a horror gate to contend with. ZOVOZO (12) wasn't beaten far last time and only found one better the two prior, so a win is close.
