Verdict

CHARLIE MESSY HAIR (2) has been a model of consistency of late with a couple of good jumps efforts either side of a flat placing. Beaten 10 lengths last start but the winner of that race is not here and he's not racing anything like he's nearing the end of the preparation. RAISE THE NOTE (4) finished second two back at Coleraine then stepped up to the Crisp Steeplechase, when a 14-length fifth. He'll find this infinitely easier and might be ready for the best run of the prep. FIERCE FLIGHT (3) was beaten a long way last start, but that was in the Grand National, so he'll find this more to his liking and he hasn't had any many starts this prep as most other rivals so he could have a bit of improvement to come. BAZINI (1) was pretty ordinary at the first two runs after his Warrnambool win but was only 4-1/4 lengths behind Charlie Messy Hair last start, so he might have turned the corner. BENBULBEN (5) might be best of the rest with improvement to come.
