A tough contest to assess with maidens stepping up to a staying trip. BAUDIN (13) peaks and hasn't been enjoying the best of luck over middle distances. Is looking for this trip now and John Allen is a positive jockey booking. Gets the nod. JANEY BOPPER (14) is third-up and also gives every indication this journey will suit. Was tried at monster odds over 1 ?/16m in the Group 1 Crown Oaks at Flemington before the spell. Spoiled things with a slow start at Stawell against the above last time and Meech goes on. RAINEY (11) also presents third-up and is showing enough to suggest he can get some of the money. Finished it off okay over 1 ¼m at Kilmore last time and profiles as if the longer journey will agree. Stablemate SHAW CAN FLY (9) is hard-fit and is likely to show more. TULCHAN (6) led them up beaten 3L over 1 ½m at Swan Hill and is sure to improve off that. Ran better numbers this distance range his last preparation and keep onside at a price.
