BIG SISTER AVA (10) looks the one to beat off a strong debut showing at Kilmore when well supported in the market there and working home well for a narrow second. She'll be fitter and better for that and maps for every chance from the soft gate. EPOCH (2) has been solid in two runs back over shorter trips and looks suited getting to a mile third up. He can roll forward and stay the trip well. SIAM EMERALD (6) ran well fresh at Echuca over 7f, an improvement on his form last time in. He can improve off that. FOUR CANDLES (3) was solid first up at Pakenham and should relish getting to this trip now.

Minus Pool

A pari-mutuel pool – typically a show pool - where one horse is so heavily bet that after deductions there is not enough money left to cover the prescribed minimum on each bet.

Blinkers

A hood worn on a horse’s head to limit side vision, which can improve concentration. Blinkers are added or removed to relax a horse or give it more focus.

Tack

The equipment the horse wears, including saddle and bridle. A jockey typically has their own racing saddle, placed on each horse they ride just before the race.
