CELTIC BLING (6) has needed time to mature, and she made good progress last prep, including winning her penultimate start on the poly track here earlier in the season. She has been tuned up with a recent Ashburton trial, and even from a wide gate, she will be hard to hold out. Follow the market moves. HELLO BESS (12) won her debut here on the poly track in December, and her 2 starts since then, on turf, have also been good. She can settle handy to the pace, and should be among the top 4 this time. PATSY SPIRIT (7) fought hard off a tough trip over 5f at Reefton 4 weeks ago. He has not had much luck this season, and a win here would be no surprise. WANDERIN SPELLE (1) made progress despite lacking some strength last year during a winter prep. and he will be a lot stronger this year. A wide gate is no help, but if he doesn't need the run, he is worth including in all top 4 combos. CHICAGO DREAM (5) raced well on the West Coast, and he can make full use of his good draw.
