Verdict

HE'S LUCID (1) was trialling up well before finishing third fresh up at Hawera 8 days ago. He could have finished closer that day had he not been held up along the fence before they turned for home. If he can get going in clear air earlier this time, then he can have the last say. BEAUESK (6) has been runner-up twice since his tough short-head win here in late December. He relishes the wet tracks, and with conditions to suit him, he can figure in the top 3 again. SIXTH GENERATION (2) ran on late at Matamata last week, after winning by a nose at Waverley before that. He drops 6lbs in weight after a claim, and he can bounce straight back into the money here. TRUCE (4) will be peaking third up, and he only needs a wet track to be a threat in this. Include in all top 4 combos. BELLES FATE (5) is another who is looking for a wet track, and watch for some quick improvement once she gets them. Stick with her.
