Verdict

SUNSET BOULEVARD (3) has kept on stepping up this season, and after running on late over a mile off a freshen up at Otaki in his penultimate start, he was too tough for a good field at Trentham 6 days ago. He will have no trouble with the quick backup, and after a 7lbs claim, he is perfectly placed to repeat the dose. BELLE TRIBUTE (6) was a comfortable winner at Whanganui over a mile last time out, and will be dropping 10lbs in weight. The extra 2f won't be a problem, so go again. FREEBELLE (8) has been thereabouts this season, improving again to finish third at Otaki 2 weeks ago. She is nicely placed at the weights and is expected to run her usual honest race. KNIGHTS REALM (4) did not fire at Matamata 3 weeks ago over 7 ½f, but he is more suited to this trip. He may try to take them all the way, so don't risk him. WOLFGANG (1) is a tough veteran that might need the run, but he can never be ruled out of a top 4 finish at this level.
