Verdict

SPANISH LAD (4) has yet to find his best form on a turf track, but was looking a lot better last time out at Pukekohe when finishing seventh. He gets a big swing in his draw, and more importantly, he will be back to racing in an anti-clockwise direction. A form reversal is expected. EL VIENTO (3) has improved his performances as his fitness has increased. He was less than 2 lengths from the winner when fifth at Tauranga nearly 3 weeks ago, and there will be no more excuses fourth up, especially if he strikes his preferred good track. INDIAN GOLD (5) could not catch the leader as the favourite in a 4-horse field here 4 weeks ago, settling for a sound second on a very testing track. He has yet to be tried on a better surface, but he won't lack fitness, and another honest run is on the cards. ROEDERER (1) has had a bunch of gear changes since finishing seventh as the favourite at Tauherenikau nearly 3 weeks ago. Stick with him and follow your money. Each way value. TAVI ANN (6) include.
