Verdict

PACIFIC MV (9) was excellent last start when charging late and missing by only a narrow margin over 6 ?f here. That run reads perfectly for this, and he looks ideally placed to go one better. CASH COVE (11) arrives off a determined win over 6f with Cheng Han Kok aboard, and with a handy weight drop today, he's entitled to produce another bold showing. FORTUNE WHEEL (10) improved last time when stepping up to 7 ½f, finishing fifth despite the margin, and he finds a more suitable scenario here where a sharper effort is expected. MEROVINGIAN (8) is an imported three-year-old having his first local run for the S Dunderdale yard after last being seen at Moonee Valley. While he hasn't trialled publicly, his previous form suggests he's talented enough to be a big player fresh, especially if the money comes for him.
