MY - Selangor Turf Club 2 - Race 1

IRON RULER (4) is the one to beat after consecutive seconds at this track, each time beaten just under a length, and he was sent out an odds-on favourite when runner-up to Banker's Pair Nine last start. He also had Golden Lightning behind him there, which strengthens the reference. GOLDEN LIGHTNING (3) appeals as the main danger with weight relief from his latest fourth and a long record of winning at around 7f, though his track-and-trip strike rate is only fair. PACIFIC BAOBAO (8) was third in that same Banker's Pair Nine race, beaten just under a length at generous odds, and brings honest recent form, but the 20-start maiden record keeps the winning case in check. MR HAPPY (6) has been close enough in recent runs to hold claims for the wider chances, with his latest fifth worth some allowance, although he is still winless and has yet to place at this track and distance.
