GOLD MEDAL ROSE (10) gets the nod after converting strong recent ratings into a Class 3 win at this track, scoring by a head from Defeater after being near the top of an open market. Her four wins from ten starts at this track and distance give the profile substance, and the light weight keeps her well placed despite having been beaten by Rail Trail two runs ago. DUMA (5) is the obvious danger after beating Irish Goodbye here last start and brings six wins at this venue, plus an excellent record with S Ruzaini. RAIL TRAIL (12) had beaten Gold Medal Rose the run prior and was still close behind Duma last time, so he remains a genuine winning hope if he holds that form third-up. LET'S TROT (11) resumes after a long break and has a new-venue query, but his Australian form contains enough substance and the 4lbs claim gives him a workable return set-up.
