CLARA BOW (10) has been thereabouts in both of her starts to date, and will have Craig Grylls replacing an apprentice this time. She tries a mile for the first time, and on her home track for her peak effort, she should be hard to hold out. SURPRISE INSIDE (8) got back too far from a wide gate at Te Aroha, and was doing her best work late that day. She has a big swing in her draw this time, and with an extra furlong on travel, she is worth another chance. Each-way value. CEASE AND DESIST (2) needed his fresh-up run, and then improved to run second at Tauranga nearly 3 weeks ago over 7f. He steps up to a mile, and with Opie Bosson keeping the faith, he can go one better in this. WILD THING (4) can do things wrong, but she was game in defeat when second at Ruakaka 15 days ago. She will take some pegging back in this. ALIKAT (5) will be peaking third up from a spell, and she will don the blinkers for the first time. Include her in all top 4 combos.
