Verdict

LIBERTY GIRL (3) could only manage to finish fifth at her latest appearance over 1 ½m at Ashburton Raceway, failing to live up to market expectations. Form prior to that was a better guide to her ability, including a sound second over 1 ?m at Oamaru two starts ago. Sure to enjoy an economical run from this draw. This looks a sterner test than last time but on her best form she is capable of a far better performance. BLU DIAMOND (12) has been competitive of late and kept the ball rolling last time when 7 metres from the winner in fourth over 1 ?m at Oamaru. Will need a bit of luck negotiating a very wide starting position. Meets a comparable field and he can take care of this line-up. DELIGHTFUL GALLEON (9) is in the mix following a fifth at his most recent appearance over 1 ?m at Addington. PICKETTYWITCH (1) is worth some thought after her last-start fourth over 1 ¹/16m at Ashburton Raceway on August 30.
