Verdict

Plenty of in-form runners come together. CRUNCH (11) settled worse than midfield then went through his gears nicely to be beaten just over a length on debut last start. Will appreciate the extra ½f today and with some race smarts now on board he looks the testing material. FLYING ARTISAM (6) returned from a lengthy spell with an impressive second last time out in the same race as Crunch, beaten narrowly after racing on the speed. Will need to do a bit of work from a wide alley but he is a great chance to go one better. COPARTNER PEGASUS (2) stormed home when clear to be beaten a head when second-up over 6 ¾f at Wyong a month ago. Kept fresh and will be tough to hold out. DEMMO DERMY (3) is very fit and from a nice draw can run another bold race.

Horse Racing Basic Terms

Synthetic Surface

A racing surface comprised of silica sand and fibers, such as recycled carpet or spandex. The mixture is then sealed with wax.

Trifecta

A wager picking the first, second and third horses in the exact order. A trifecta box means paying more to ensure the horses can finish in any order in the top three spots.

Main Track Only

A horse entered for main track only (MTO) is one hoping the weather forecast or track conditions will move the race off the turf course and onto the main track. They are scratched the morning of the race if the conditions stay dry.
