Verdict

MENTHON (4) was hard to miss first-up over this trip on the outer track a fortnight ago, coming from next to last on straightening to be beaten just 0.4 lengths. Clearly a career-best effort so stick with this lightly raced three-year-old from the Waller yard. PINK PERSUASION (11) opened this prep with a couple of close thirds then stepped up quickly to the mile last time and struggled. Nicely drawn and is worth another chance coming back to a more suitable journey. ALNAIR (10) started deep in the red but only battled away into third on a heavy track over this trip at Hawkesbury recently. Backs up just nine days later so deserves another chance. UNMATCHED (9) ran a nice race at odds first-up over this distance and is open to plenty of improvement.
