Verdict

SPIRITIST looks the clear pick on the numbers and looks to have decent claims. At The Cross comes here in a very good vein of form and is a contender too. Smiling Capote demands respect as well.

Horse Racing Basic Terms

Starter Race

An allowance race restricted to horses who have started for a certain claiming price recently.

Also Eligible

A horse that is entered but does not draw into the body of the field due to too many entries, and thus is not permitted to start unless there are enough scratches to shrink the field size.

Tack

The equipment the horse wears, including saddle and bridle. A jockey typically has their own racing saddle, placed on each horse they ride just before the race.
