Verdict

NAFTALI (3) was ridden closer to the speed and held on well for second last start when second-up over today's trip at Armidale. Has been in the money at both previous third-up runs, including last prep at Muswellbrook. Has had plenty of chances but he looks to have an edge on this field. THE BULLET (5) returned to form with blinkers on last time out, closing well but finding one a little better over this course and distance. Poses a threat if he manages to hold that level of performance. HUTT STREET (2) led for home but couldn't hold out The Bullet and one other in a similar race here eight days ago. Meets him 2kgs better today with the claim so there shouldn't be a lot between them again. CASDAEMON (1) has been competitive in a couple of shorter races to launch this prep. Draws a far better gate and can improve over a bit more ground third-up. WILLIAM'S SMILE (7) is a 28-start maiden who wasn't far away last time. One for the exotics.
