Verdict

ZOURIPPER (3) overcame a slow start to flash home and just miss in the three-way go last time out over this distance at Wyong. That was his first appearance in 23 weeks so there is plenty of improvement to come. Scored a big win here at this trip last prep so it sets up nicely. Three-year-old BRYANT (4) is on the ascendancy, scoring for the second time in his last three runs over 5 ½f at Randwick in a Midway on 28 February. Goes up sharply in the weights but back in this company while fresh he looks a serious contender. READY TO SHINE (7) copped early interference then worked home fairly at Wyong recently over today's journey. Won a similar race here two back under today's rider Zac Lloyd, who has a 27% strike rate for the Matthew Smith yard. Must be included. CASTLEJOHN (10) scored a tough win on debut last start over 5 ½f here. Big step up today but must be respected. CALL ME GORGEOUS (5) impressed at Newcastle last time out off a long break and is another with definite claims.

Main Track Only

A horse entered for main track only (MTO) is one hoping the weather forecast or track conditions will move the race off the turf course and onto the main track. They are scratched the morning of the race if the conditions stay dry.
