Verdict

PYROLYSIS (1) is a leader who resumed further improved beaten a nose at Canterbury. He was cruelled by the 13 barrier at Gosford following, and became a sitting duck for a dominant winner. There's plenty of speed but he should get it cosier today and is well-placed to break through. RING OF FIRE (7) has winning claims at decent odds. Posted a strong relative number in an Open 2 here on debut and then was heavily backed at Moruya but luckless. Resumes with McDougall is a key jockey engagement and will be naturally improved. AT HER MERCY (17) didn't fire on a heavy track on debut and was tipped out. Resumes owning an easy metro trial win and maps for the run of the race. Sits at the bottom of the handicap and can give a big sight. MYSTERIOUS MASTER (4) is third-up and free running. Didn't miss by far at Hawkesbury fresh but folded up badly at Beaumont-Newcastle following ($2.5F). The blinkers are applied for the first time and a much sharper effort is anticipated.
