PHOENIX LEGEND (1) is a former NSW gelding resuming and having his first start for the Burns yard. Went close to a maiden win a few times last prep, finishing second at his latest appearance over the mile at Gosford on November 6. Tuned up with a fifth in a recent trial at Sunshine Coast. Is well placed to finally get off the mark. JELAILA (8) went forward again here last start and held on well for second. Should be close to the speed despite the draw and is nearing a peak effort. LADY BARBAROSSA (9) returns after eight months in the paddock. Closed the last campaign with a sixth over 6f at Ipswich. Tuned up with a trio of trials and can make her presence felt fresh. REDCLOUD (14) was in the firing line on the corner and finished third last start at the first run back from a spell here. Likely improver that deserves respect.
