GOLD MELODY (6) resumes much improved winning here in a CL1. Has to step out over a longer sprint, but that's achievable with the extra fitness. Stays down in the weights and can take the next step. TOY STORY (3) didn't manage the wide gate here last time but was good beaten a nose at the track/trip prior. Has an inside barrier today, and he should be right in it. KEVIN MCKEEN (2) finished ahead of the above in the same contest and had presented off two narrow defeats at Grafton. The best of those would have him in the finish, but he has the outside gate to manage. AYE AYE SKIPPER (1) was heavily bet to win at Port Macquarie first-up and looked a run short. Maps well and can get closer over a more suitable distance.
