Verdict

Three key scratchings open this race right up. CZECH HER OUT (8) has been safely held at her last couple of runs, both on rain-affected ground. Best figures from earlier this prep measure up favourably. Has had plenty of chances but this race sets up nicely. First starter RAFA (4) was runner-up in a recent Scone trial. Draws a nice gate in a race that doesn't ooze quality. From the Archibald stable so must be respected. Lightly raced filly STRASBELLE (7) has been in the money at her last couple, the pick of those runs coming two back when she just missed in a $50k super maiden over today's track and trip. Big chance on that form. NORTHERN EAGLE (6) as beaten just a neck over this course and distance two runs back then wasn't sighted subsequently at Scone. Worth another chance. MOON TREATY (10) turned in an eye-catcher to get up for third here recently. Yet to salute in 27 starts which dampens the enthusiasm.
