Verdict

Competitive affair to close out the card. VANDEVELDE (7) wasn't disgraced in G2 company last time out and will appreciate the sharp drop back in grade here. Strips fitter third-up from the spell and should be right there at the business end. The well-related KAAZI (2) (half to 4xG1 winner Zaaki) is two from two over this mile journey and gets some weight relief with the 4lbs claim. Will find this easier than recent Sydney efforts and can play a major role in the finish. BODHRAN (4) also hails from a handy family (half to 2xG2 winner La Tene) and got the job done here last time out. In the mix. JAM PACKED (12) is a consistent conveyance who has hit the top-five in all 13 career efforts to date. One for the exotics players. STRANGLEHOLD (1) is a last-start winner who shouldn't be slept on.
