INSIDE PASSAGE (4) brings solid momentum after a determined maiden win over 1 m at Doomben 18 days ago, sticking on strongly late to hang on by a nose. He won't find this much harder, and Ben Thompson will negate his tough gate. With some early luck, he can repeat the dose. ARDUOUS (7) has not quite featured in her past couple of runs, including a fifth over 1m here on a track that was probably heavier than she preferred, but she was not beaten far, and on a slightly firmer surface, she can figure in the top 3 this time. ARTSPACE (8) took a clear step forward when narrowly beaten over 1 ¹/16m at Ipswich 16 days ago, and he seems to have a liking for wet tracks. He has found it hard to win another race, but in this modest field, he could go one better. BETATHANEVA (12) was runner-up here in her penultimate start on a heavy track, and then found it too tough in a better field at Doomben nearly a month ago over 6 ¾f. Getting back out to 1m is the key, and she can bounce back.
