Verdict

DEFIANT CODE (2) caught the eye on debut closing off from well back on debut at Doomben, beaten only a length and a half despite starting an outside chance in betting, and the 3lbs claim helps offset the top weight. Can get the job done this time. IT'SALL ABOUT MARY (13) has the most reliable race fitness and went within a nose of breaking through at Kilcoy, with previous placings at this track and on wet ground giving her the right profile. BRAVE BENNY (1) resumes off a close Sunny Coast Inner Track trial and his debut sixth at this venue had more merit than the margin, with interference and a wide run against him. WORTHTHEADMISSION (16) is less convincing for win purposes but has ratings support at the distance and did make some ground first-up at the Gold Coast, so she stays in the mix if sharper second-up.
