Verdict

QUICK SHARP (5) stalked the pace then went home a shade the better last start in a BM58 over 5 ½f at Armidale. Stretches out to this distance for the first time but it looks the right move. Getting up in the weights but won't spend a cent from the draw and can certainly get the job done again. MIRAI SAN (4) returned to form last start with a game second over this distance at Tamworth after racing right up near the pace from the outset. Lightly raced four-year-old who just needs luck slotting in from a wide gate to be in the finish again. VIERVILLE (2) resumes after a six-month break. Speedy gelding who has only won of soft or synthetic surfaces. Draws a nice gate and while fresh should give backers a sight. SET TO PROPHET (3) made it two in a row when he led all the way over 7f at Armidale recently. That followed a six-week break so in an easier race he is a huge chance again. JOSEPHINE (12) strips fitter and gets out to a more suitable trip this time.

Third-up today and placed third-up in the past. Resuming made ground from midfield, 3rd of 11 at Tamworth Cl1 on December 22 over 5f, 1.3 len behind Snatchreilly with 122lbs at $6.50. Second run from a spell favourite, raced right near the speed and boxed on, won by a nose at Armidale Bm58 January 5 over 5 ½f defeating Lord Of The Sun with 126lbs at $2.90. Heading the right way and from the inside gate can win again.
