STORM CAPITAL (2) was always behind the eight-ball after a slow start and consequently failed to feature first-up over this course and distance, his first run under Nikki Pollock. Filled a minor placing at Geelong at this stage last prep. Open to plenty of improvement. MAXANDUS (1) returns from a 28-week break for a second campaign. Showed plenty of pace in the three runs when last in work and was competitive each time. Tricky gate but with even luck he should be in the finish. KAWATIRI (5) hasn't landed a blow in two runs this prep, albeit in tougher maidens over 4 ½f. Placed here at this trip back in March and with added fitness can reach those heights again. BY LINDA (4) is back from a three-month lay-off. Decent fresh performer who gets every chance after drawing the number one marble. Market watch on MILLY'S IMAGE (6) on debut whose most recent trial was clearly the best.
