Verdict

KILLER KERR (13) tough mare starting to hit her straps. Pinched ground along the inside when sprinting quickly to win again over the 6f at Warwick Farm. Has further improvement to come on the limit. Goes close in this stronger contest. DENMAN STAR (2) underrated gelding who returned from a lengthy layoff with a fast finishing victory over 6f at Canterbury. Proven at this level and goes just as well second up. HARRY'S BAR (6) indicated a win was imminent when looming late with a narrow fourth over 6f at Canterbury. Extra trip in her favour and maps to get every chance. PRETTY TAVI (11) sound return from the wide gate when launching late to finish a narrow third over this track and trip. Comes to hand quickly and gets a more economical run here. Each way player. ROLLING MAGIC (1) progressive gelding who defeated some of these first up over this course and distance. Will appreciate the claim and can overcome the awkward gate. Stays in the mix.

Horse Racing Basic Terms

Exercise Rider

A rider built much like a jockey but is employed for exercising and working out horses in the morning.

Main Track Only

A horse entered for main track only (MTO) is one hoping the weather forecast or track conditions will move the race off the turf course and onto the main track. They are scratched the morning of the race if the conditions stay dry.

Also Eligible

A horse that is entered but does not draw into the body of the field due to too many entries, and thus is not permitted to start unless there are enough scratches to shrink the field size.
