Verdict

SOCIABLE (2) missed the placings for the first time this prep when he closed well to finish fourth over 6f at Kembla (metro) last time out. Goes up sharply in the weights but this is a far easier race so expect to see him right there at the business end. WRITTEN SCANDAL (7) took a while to find clear galloping room then flew late but just missed over this distance at Canterbury recently. Down a little in grade and is ready to peak after three runs back from a spell. The sparingly raced CROSS TASMAN (3) resumes. Showed ability in the maiden prep and can kick on this time in work. CALGA POWER (6) returned from a long break with a dominant win over 5 ½f at Gosford last start. Sparingly raced and has loads of upside so expect him to cope with this step up in grade. Last start Newcastle maiden winner EMERY (14) continues to improve and can run a bit of a race with the assistance of the inside alley.
