Verdict

HEREWARD (5) led until the dying stages of a similar race here two starts ago. Tackled a Midway over the Randwick mile subsequently and failed to perform. Should enjoy a nice run up on the pace and he can bounce back to form in this more suitable contest. JOHN DORY (6) had been racing well until last time out at Rosehill when a step back in trip in Saturday company wasn't an ideal set-up. Nicely drawn and well in after Grima's claim so watch for an immediate response. CLAIM THE CROWN (3) progressed in good style recently at the second run of the campaign, beaten just over a length over 1 ³/16m at Canterbury. Coming back to 7 ¾f doesn't look the optimum placement but he should be storming home. EMBALLEE (9) wasn't far away in a comparable race to this here a fortnight ago. Ready to find peak performance at the third run back. FULL HAO (4) disappointed as favourite here last start but is worth another chance.
