Verdict

TAZIMA (5) not too sure where his ceiling is after winning at his last three starts in good style. Races best with his runs spaced and looks ready for this company with J Mac aboard. Comes up with the inside marble and should justify the favouritism. POISON CHALICE (11) ready for the 1 ?m fourth-up and will appreciate a firmer surface. Presented at the right time but failed to close off with the 134lbs when fifth over 1m at this track. Hard to beat in this contest with the 117lbs. Value contender. NELLIE LEYLAX (3) won well two-back at Caulfield, then faded late along the inside over 1 ¼m at Flemington. Comes here deep into the campaign and deserves another chance with Fitzgerald's 7lbs claim. BONIFACE (14) talented, imported gelding with his hoof on the till fourth-up. Meets Tazima better at the weights today after charging late to run second over this track and trip last time out. Schiller sticks and no surprise to see him finish over the top of these. MATUSALEM (6) stays in the mix.
