FLYING IMPALA (2) found Lambay too good but covered the others in a CL3 Showcase at Gundagai. He keeps the handy 7lbs claim and positions forward, which suits around here. Looks well placed and expect another big run. ISCHYROS (3) met the above at Randwick and then again at Gundagai, finishing just behind him in third. Hits this at peak and should be right in it again. CHASING A QUID (1) resumes for the Vella yard and the Victorian Newitt, is a key jockey booking. He's up to this at best and is likely to be wound right up for the occasion. CHRISTMAS STAR (10) resumes for Canberra's premier stable. She's placed 2/3 fresh and 2x winning rider JVO continue his association. The gate is tricky but she has to be kept onside.
