PATRIKA EXPRESS (6) has done little wrong in two starts, winning her Mdn at Dubbo by just over four lengths before being run down late as a dominant odds-on favourite in a BM58 at Orange. Gets some weight relief here and a softer barrier is a big tick. Can get back to winning ways. MRS FLANDERS (1) comes back from provincial BM64 grade after covering ground at Newcastle, and her wet-track record is a genuine asset. Ticks a few boxes and looks primed for a bold showing. BLUE AKOYA (2) has placed or finished close in both runs this campaign in BM66 grade. Third-up now and the form out of her last start has held up well. Can put her best foot forward. TRAVELON DORY (5) is on the quick turnaround after a nice win last start and can't be left out. BLIND SQUIRREL (4) bolted in fresh before a narrow defeat last start. Third-up off a long break now and she has a nice platform to explode.

A bullet, or bullet workout, is a workout that was clocked as the best time for a certain distance on a given day.

Minus Pool

A pari-mutuel pool – typically a show pool - where one horse is so heavily bet that after deductions there is not enough money left to cover the prescribed minimum on each bet.

Trifecta

A wager picking the first, second and third horses in the exact order. A trifecta box means paying more to ensure the horses can finish in any order in the top three spots.
