ESQUEL (3) finished out of the money two starts back then was beaten 14 lengths when seventh over 6 ½f at Broome a week-and-a-half ago. Suitably placed so anticipating a better run this time. CLOSE TALKER (1) has been in the market at her last couple of runs but failed to threaten, the latest effort a modest eighth at Broome over 6 ½f. Where there's smoke there's fire and rates a top-three chance on best figures. LA SIGNORA DANE (4) was in the money two starts back at Port Hedland but couldn't back it up last time when seventh, beaten 9 lengths, at Broome over 6 ½f. Has her share of ability and can do a lot better.
