ODEN RICKEY (2) gets the nod on consistency and proven track-distance form, with one win and three placings from seven attempts at this track and distance and another sound second behind Grazie last time. AEOLIAN RIDGE (1) is the obvious danger after justifying favouritism in a COND at this venue, beating Thor Tesoro by a length and a half, and the inside draw gives him every chance to confirm that improvement. S K CAT (5) was plain as favourite at Funabashi last start, but her previous second to Attract Run was much stronger and her record with Genki Fujimoto keeps her right in the winning discussion. CRISP OF WAR (6) must rebound from a first-up eighth at Funabashi, yet his C3 win at this track two runs ago and useful recent-season profile make him a credible place-to-win hope if he sharpens second-up.
