SEINOSUKE (6) finds it hard to win but ran a strong race last time when beaten a nose into second over 7 ½f at this track. Can play a major role. ROUGE MAAT (7) returns after four-and-a-half months in the paddock. Closed the last campaign with a fifth over 7f at Sonoda. Rates highly and is a chance to break through. GREAT SPIRIT (12) finished sixth two runs back then improved last start but found a couple better over 7 ½f at this track, beaten 2.5 lengths. This looks a good race for him and he is one of the key runners.

State-Bred

A horse bred in a particular state and thus eligible to race in restricted state-bred races. These can be anything from maiden races to stakes events.

Bobble/Stumble

A slip or a duck from a horse trying to leave the starting gates, often caused by the surface giving way under the feet. This can range from a mild misstep to a stumble down to their knees.

Claiming Race

A race in which horses are entered for a certain price, or claiming tag, which is also their sales price. An owner can claim any horse entered for the tag before the race begins, and owns them as soon as the gates open.
