JP - Funabashi - Race 7

SMILE FREYJA (1) brings the most reliable current profile after going under by only a neck behind Initiate at this track last start, and her record at the track and distance gives her a strong base to convert that form. The weight relief and return of a winning rider strengthen the case. TERUKEN YUMITO KEN (8) is the obvious danger after resuming with a seven-length win over Taisei Global at this venue, with two wins and one placing from four attempts at this track and distance. DERMA RUDRA (4) is highly consistent and has been placed at his past five, including a length-and-a-half third behind Goodman, so he is hard to dismiss despite being more reliable than brilliant. FLUORITE (5) resumes after a dominant five-length win over Initiate and has won two of three at this track and distance, though her first-up task asks her to reproduce that peak straight away.
