CAPTAIN QUEEN (6) made the right impression on debut at this track, scoring by four lengths over 5f from Samaroli after being near the top of an open market. The new 6f is the only question, but one win from one start at this venue gives her a strong platform. QUAD ANGLE (1) has placed at both runs and was solid when third at Urawa last start, beaten two lengths by Maple Ship after looming and fighting on. He is still a maiden, yet his consistency and barrier one keep him right in the contest. ORCHID TIARA (3) resumes after four months and has the talent angle, having won on debut by four lengths at Urawa with Tsubasa Sasagawa aboard. Her final run before the break was poor, so the market will be testing that return. LACRIME (7) was well held at Kasamatsu last start, but the win two runs back over 7f was decisive and her overall record of one win and three places from seven starts gives her a genuine chance to bounce back.
