LE RIRE (8) has been in the placings at her last two starts, finishing second last time over 4 ½f at this track. Has her share of ability. Hard to beat in this suitable race. MISSILE BISCUITS (3) is racing well and is close to a win, the latest effort a solid second at Urawa over 1 ¼m after being in contention all the way. Well placed this line-up and there is no reason she cannot find winning ways. MONTER JEWEL (10) stepped up in trip to 5f last time at Funabashi and ran below her best, finishing 8 lengths away in ninth. Form at this shorter distance is strong so she is one of the main contenders. TANOSHISA (11) was well-fancied when resuming last start but could only manage ninth, beaten 4.5 lengths, over 4 ½f at this track. Has a fair record when second up, including two top-three finishes. Can do better than last.

Exercise Rider

A rider built much like a jockey but is employed for exercising and working out horses in the morning.

Main Track Only

A horse entered for main track only (MTO) is one hoping the weather forecast or track conditions will move the race off the turf course and onto the main track. They are scratched the morning of the race if the conditions stay dry.

Tack

The equipment the horse wears, including saddle and bridle. A jockey typically has their own racing saddle, placed on each horse they ride just before the race.
