Verdict

GREEK TREASURE (8) returns from a two-month let-up after winning a C1 at this track by just over a length, and that response from a plain sixth two back gives him the strongest recent profile. The new 1 ½m trip is the qualification, but he has a class-drop tag, the winning rider stays with him, and his latest win had enough authority to make him the one to beat. SAN DIEGO (13) is the immediate danger after sweeping home to beat Wurdig by just under two lengths at this venue, though he also tackles 1 ½m for the first time and had been well held at 1 ¼m the run prior. STRIKE NOIR (5) brings the most reliable staying evidence, with two wins and a placing from three starts at this track and distance, and arrives third-up after back-to-back wins. WURDIG (11) has strong place consistency, was runner-up to San Diego first-up, and his record at this venue keeps him firmly in the minor-money mix despite being untried at the trip.
