HOPINGFORA BEAUTY (2) has improved with racing, backing up a solid debut fourth with a strong third over 1m at New Plymouth 2 weeks ago. He is likely to settle just off the speed and looks ready to take another step forward. Leading chance. TULSA TURNAROUND (10) bounced back into form at her latest run, finishing a close third at Te Aroha after looming large on the turn, being beaten by only a neck. She appears to be well placed again, so stick with her. ONE BOLD FLOOZIE (12) makes her debut by The Bold One out of Floozie Cat, a mare who has produced a G1 winner. She impressed when winning a recent Foxton trial, and from a good draw, she will have plenty of market support. LA KWIK (3) resumed with a solid fourth over 7f at New Plymouth and should strip fitter for that outing. With natural improvement and the aid of the pole position, she is worth including in all combinations. INTEGRITY (9) got the shuffle up and finished on too late at Te Aroha 16 days ago. Main Track Only

A horse entered for main track only (MTO) is one hoping the weather forecast or track conditions will move the race off the turf course and onto the main track. They are scratched the morning of the race if the conditions stay dry.

Blinkers

A hood worn on a horse’s head to limit side vision, which can improve concentration. Blinkers are added or removed to relax a horse or give it more focus.
