TULSA KING (2) more than held his own in some hot fields as a 3YO, and he was out-paced over 6f when resuming from a spell at New Plymouth 5 weeks ago. The extra 2f is the key, and he can improve enough to win this. On top for us. WONDERBOY (3) is usually consistent when fit, and his form has been near enough on the poly track recently at Awapuni. He is forward enough to cope with a heavy turf track now, and with the aid of the pole position, he should be among the hardest to beat in this. ELIUD (1) needed his resuming run at Te Rapa over 6f a fortnight ago, and the extra 1f here will suit him, but more importantly, he is down in class, so stick with him. DUPUG (4) ran on late when finishing sixth fresh up at Whanganui nearly 3 weeks ago, and he will again be hitting the line here. Include in all multiples. EXPLOSIVE IMPACT (7) has found it hard to win another race, but is heading the right way with his form. He is peaking at the right time, and won't be far away again.
