Verdict

RISING FORCE (4) returned with a bang here on New Year's Day before a 1.5L defeat when tiring late most recently as the odds-on favourite. Happy to think he can bounce back today with the aid of an inside draw. Lost no admirers last time out and he can go one better this time around. AURIO (6) may have found the 7f journey a bridge too far last time out, beaten 2.8L. Back to this track and trip holds the key and Purton remaining in the saddle is a big push for his chanced. Can settle handy and land the knockout blow as he did three starts back. ARMOUR WAR EAGLE (10) has been knocking on the door for a while now, beaten 2.8L most recently. He remains down in the weights and with some luck from the draw, he can put his best foot forward again. LUCY IN THE SKY (1) has trialled well since bleeding at his last start back in November. Teetan sticks from the trials and he can make an impression first-up.
