Verdict

FLYING JULZ (4) went close on debut after tracking the leader in May. Tried to lead throughout and was caught late when beaten 1L 5th last start. Dam won 16 races. ENSIGN JACK (2) was swamped late after leading in his last two starts over 7f & 6f back in May. Lone placing came first-up was respect here. CLANCY (3) was right on the pace and tried hard when beaten just over 2L on debut a year ago. Poor efforts in subsequent runs suggesting he may have had a problem. Possible improver. FAULT LINE (11) battled on fairly after getting well back early on debut at Timaru recently. Better for that run and the wetter track may help here.
