NIGEL (1) got home well from the tail of the field when fist-up over 1 ?m at Wingatui last start. Yet to place on his home course here, but he has improved a lot since those early starts. WILD JAKKAL (10) improved effort when trailed the leader ON THE RIVET throughout, took over briefly turn and whacked away OK last start. Respect here. ON THE RIVET (7) held the lead from the pole and raced keenly to the turn last start at Wingatui. A furlong less to travel here will assist. DAVID MOSS (6) had a nice trip 3L off the lead on the outer but faded in the straight last start. A firmer track may help here. SPARKY (5) lost a plate and faded after sitting outside the leader over 7f when first-up last start. This suits better, but may need another run.
